EVENT DESCRIPTION
This is an author’s workshop led by ceramist Helena Prat from @hellenicaceramics.
It consists of four sessions, starting on Monday, November 4, and concluding on Monday, November 25, from 4 PM to 5:30 PM. No prior experience is required. Throughout the workshop, participants will receive guidance from Helena and the Kreative team to ensure a time of relaxation and creativity.
Using one and a half kilos of English porcelain, we will work on five sizes of pieces, which will be bowls of various diameters: three units of 6 cm, two units of 8 cm, one unit of 10 cm, one unit with a maximum diameter of 15 cm and a height of 5 cm, and one tray with a maximum size of 16 cm by 10 cm. With the scraps, we can create various pieces of jewelry or Christmas ornaments.
On the first day, we will start working with the smaller sizes and the tray, then gradually move on to the larger pieces. In the second session, the pieces from the first day will be ready to be polished with steel wool and sponge, and we can put them through the first firing before glazing, while continuing to build the larger pieces. On the third Monday, we will review the fired pieces, check how they turned out, and continue working on the remaining pieces. Finally, in the last session, we will prepare the chosen glazes to paint the pieces.
Regarding extras, if you wish to make a larger piece, its feasibility and cost will need to be assessed. If you want to come for an extra day to glaze works that couldn't be completed in class, there will be an additional cost of €35 for the day. If you cannot attend any of the scheduled days, you will lose that session.
